VQm packaging offers a new, simple and unique solution to preserve the quality of your rice during storage and/or transit, through modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). Simply pack your rice in our FIBC big bag with a form-stable, hermetic, vacuum-proof barrier liner and create a high CO2 concentration. Under these prolonged conditions, 100% mortality can be achieved for all insects, incl. the rice weevil (Sitophilos oryzae (Linnaeus)). Do you not export or import in big bags, but smaller bags?
Use our bag-in-bag wrapping liners to protect a pallet-load of small bags in one hermetic cover. Due to the barrier properties of the liner, the rice also remains protected from external moisture or water damage, e.g. due to condensation problems in containers. Since CO2 is a natural gas, the treatment is a biological control of rice pests, like the rice weevil, and subsequently keep your rice insect free until the end user opens the packaging. As CO2 is a recognized gas for biological treatment, it is also suitable for organic rice.We use a range of high barrier films, either with PA/EVOH/PA gas barriers or aluminum, ranging in thickness from 110 to 200 micron. What do you need to apply the vQm solution? Our vacuum/MAP unit, a sealer and our packaging equipped with our patented, two-way valve.
